Just had breakfast here, was really good. It is exactly as advertised on the building, home cooking. The food is all fresh and cooked simply and it's all delicious. We had the thick cut bacon breakfast and the French toast special. The eggs came out cooked well the hash browns were crispy and the b&g was good. This is our first time eating here, heard lots of good things about this place, but for us it's a bit of a drive. Yet we will he back, this is the best home cooking breakfast place in the area. We gonna try their fish fry and prime rib this weekend.
Nice place to eat while you are traveling to Flagstaff or near places. It tastes like real homemade food!
We left their parking lot at 2:55. They advertised Burger and Beer happy hour 2:30-5 today and but were locked up and dark. We have tried multiple times to give this restaurant a chance, but they are amazingly unreliable. 😑 A well-run business could do well at that exit and we as locals would support it whole-heartedly. Seriously disappointed.
I've had the prime rib on Saturday and a to go breakfast. the prime rib was excellent. As good as you will find in the area at a steal of a price and the breakfast was great with fresh natural food. Its a great cafe with a well rounded menu. I'm going with friends this Saturday for prime rib again.
Good food and good service. I had the burger and fries.
Food is excellent. Homemade biscuits and gravy.Everthing is excellent. Nice people.
The building is older but the food makes up for the lack of pleasing aesthetics. I had the eggs, home fries, bacon, with side of biscuit and gravy. The bacon was the real meaty thick slices, the home fries were cooked to perfection with onions. My nephew had the pancakes and they were the size of the plate. Exceptional breakfast!!!Make the stop off I-17 and give it a try.
Old mom and pops place. Not much to look at but the food and service was really good.
Other then the server wearing house slippers and pajamas ,the food was great! The corned beef hash is made from scratch and what a difference from the typical loaf out of a can! Also the biscuits and gravy are the real McCoy. No powdered ,bland ,just-add-milk -and -stir, gravy here folks, it’s real good! Give this place a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.
You can tell they use fresh ingredients here and it really pays off! $20 for two of us to eat a HUGE breakfast! Fast, friendly service. Worth the stop for sure.
Overpriced out of almost everything burnt fries horrible philly Brown mashed potatoes with skin still in it slimy lemons n soggy pickles. Do yourself a favor n kp looking
Had the prime rib and eggs special. Prime rib was salty and overdone from being on the grill should have been just put in the microwave and warmed. Eggs were good potatoes, what there were of them, were ok. Biscuit and gravy that was ordered never did show up. Wife and Kids said their breakfast was okay but didn't think they wanted to go back again.
We stumbled by this place and loved the experience (Joanie is amazing), the food was phenomenal and well priced. I recommend this place if your looking for a nice mom and pop diner experience.
We were on our honeymoon and were on our way from the airport to our hotel, looked up restaurants close by, and X Marks The Spot was the closest and we are so glad! Great little diner with awesome breakfast food! Our waitress was the absolute sweetest and she recommended a great first place for us to visit/hike. SO glad we came across this restaurant!
Great burger and fries, glad I went here instead of a chain
Great food! Highly reccomend the Philly cheese steak.
Absolutely delicious home made burgers. We stop every time we pass by.
Kayla was very friendly, explained the menu and detail. The food tasted homemade, yes the potato salad, fried mushrooms homemade. Best Reuben sandwich I have tasted in a very long time. We will be back 😁
Awesome food, wonderful people. Highly recommended.
Our FOOD, was delicious....So tasty!
There fish fry is excellent. Not to mention there Prime Rib Dinner is made with such expertise
Our server, Joni greeted us with a smile as soon as we arrived. We had breakfast. The house made corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. Our eggs were cooked perfectly. Overall a great experience. We will definitely return!
quantity and quality...great breakfast ...update... this is it third time here....pancake was cold.. asked to warm it up, came back burnt, asked for home fries, received hash browns, they were burnt.. service was bad. Had to ask for coffee three times, never offered a refill. Maybe an off day.
This place should be much more recognized! Right off the freeway in a sleepy little spot I imagine most would just pass on by. It was an older place with dated decor but it was clean! We stopped in and had a meal. It was empty at 3pm on a Friday. One gal was working as the server and the cook and she was sweet as pie. Oh boy, can she cook! A fish fry and a cheeseburger later and we were all full. I thought it unusual to have only one free refill but the cups were big enough you really didn't have to have more than that. I would definitely come back here.
Breakfast is consistently great here whether I get it to go or eat in. Good value and fresh ingredients.
Food and service were great
Definitely small Cafe Style. Great food! Service could have been a little better but they were understaffed
The philly cheesesteak was made with brisket, but it tasted like rubber. The fries were burnt, the potato salad was made with brown potatoes and the skin left on, that tasted like the potatoes weren't washed. The tea tasted like it was the end of the pitcher because you could taste the tea bag. The lemon for the tea left slime down my cup where it was placed. They do have a dog friendly patio for you to bring your pups. We did receive the food quick and the waitress was decent. Easy to find.
Food is good..don't like being nickel and dimed for ranch...adding a dollar for every item..
Ambience: This was supposed to be a pirate themed restaurant. I didn't know this and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were only three interesting pirate decorations. The acoustics are pretty bad. It would be loud if there were alot of customers. The food: was delicious. My chicken was a little dry. Cafe type food. Standard breakfast and lunch. Our server: was awesome. She let us know that the biscuits are homemade every morning. We'll try them because I plan on going back.Info from others: Call ahead because it's family-owned and at times that have to close. A cool service/perk, they have fresh breakfast burritos in the morning, ready-to-go. I imagine the hard laborers enjoy this on the way to work.
Nice little place to stop and eat right of the highway. The food and service were great
Good service. Well prepared food. Handy place to stop when exploring the area, located just off the 17.
Nice home cooked food. Second time we have been to this place on a motorcycle ride. Pancakes were easy top 3 i have ever had.
Basic menu, we found the food to be surprisingly good, with great portion sizes.
Decent breakfast spot in the middle of nowhere. This place must be rather new, since there's no obvious signage and the space above the door where one would expect signage is painted black. Assume they'll rectify that shortly. Anyway, food was good and service was friendly. (Unfortunately, though, I think they lost some business when a couple came in and then left while the one server on duty was in the back or possibly outside for a few minutes)
Food is excellent. Owner very congenial. Prices are good.
The server was really nice and helpful! She was very attentive and the food definitely had a homemade taste. It was one of the best breakfast places I have ever been to. I highly recommend X marks the spot to everyone!
Guy who answered the phone was very friendly. Glad they were open on Easter so we could get food on the road. Food was good, the buffalo chicken wrap and house salad. No business name or indication that the building is a restaurant on the outside so hard to spot and we drove by the restaurant on the first pass. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the street names in the neighborhood just East of the restaurant that we used to do a u-turn in the RV we were driving.
We stopped in for breakfast. Our $8 veggie breakfast burritos were 70-80% potatoes with zero tomatoes, scant cheese, 2 pieces of bell peppers, 3 pieces of onion and definitely not 3 eggs. Filiberto’s $4 breakfast burritos are better. My oblivious teenager even noticed and remarked on the not very friendly nature of the waitress. I’d rather drive 20-30 minutes for a better breakfast than go there again.
We had the fish and once again it was crisp and very tasty. A strawberry/cranberry salad was really good also. The coleslaw was really good as well.
Breakfast burrito and biscuits 'n gravy were very yummy and a great value, servings were huge. Service was friendly and fast. Atmosphere was casual, small town cozy.
My friend and I stopped for a mid-afternoon break from driving. Very attentive service from the owner Xavier. We enjoyed delicious hamburgers, fries, and beverages; all fresh ingredients. Very fair prices. We'll be back now that we know about this locally-owned restaurant.
Stopped after visiting Montezuma Well. Figured anyplace in the middle of nowhere with the number of people we noted must be good. Good decision. Great food. Great service. Fair prices.
We met our son and his girlfriend there and, I ordered the ribs, they were tough. And it seemed to me like they were microwaved and served. I will not waste money on ribs again, And, why didn’t I send them back. You ask? Because we were on our way to flagstaff and I didn’t want to wait for another order to cook.Otherwise every thing else was good.
My husband and I got breakfast burritos to-go. The burritos tasted good and portions are large but there were shards of broken plastic in my burrito.
Very good food and customer service this restaurant is a very cute! It was kinda hard to find if you can’t find it just call the restaurant they’ll help you find it 😁
Home made gravy! Food is comforting and the staff is friendly.
Good food good service. Mark just need to to do more the way the customer wants it. If the customer doesn't get it their way, they don't have to come back. Even for good food and good service.
Love everything on this menu,#1 my vote.
After a hike we stopped by for a bite to eat. Fast service and comfortable spots. Got a burger, it was by far the best burger I’ve had in a while. Fair prices for some good soul food. 10/10 would eat there again
